My Whole Life

I was born to reflect the image of a God who is powerful enough to create my universe, attentive enough to hear my prayers and loving enough to be defined by self-sacrifice. I find my greatest fulfillment on a journey toward purpose and wholeness.

Our Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventist beliefs are meant to permeate your whole life. Growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God, you are invited to explore, experience and know the One who desires to make us whole.

 OUR COMMUNITY

Riverside SDA Church is a diverse Christian community comprised of individuals that seek to love God, each other and the greater community of Arusha. Our church is a part of a worldwide community of Seventh-day Adventists.  We share a love for Jesus and a commitment to demonstrating and spreading the good news of His transforming love to our neighborhoods, the city of Arusha, and the world. We warmly welcome all, and invite you to join us in our journey of learning, worshiping, serving, and growing.

OUR BELIEFS

We believe God is a personal God who loves the world. We believe God came to earth as Jesus, a man who lived in the first century. We believe Jesus lived a life without sin and that his example is one all humanity should aspire to. We believe that in Jesus' death and resurrection humanity has been forgiven from sin and given hope to live a new kind of life. We believe God is calling each person to accept the free gift of God's forgiveness and to live a life empowered by God. We believe that God desires a personal relationship with every person.

OUR VALUES

These beliefs lead us to value:

  • Community - We realize that we are not made for isolation, but relationship.
  • Conversation - We recognize the limit of our own finite perspective and seek to listen, to share, to understand and to learn from each other.
  • Wholeness - We seek restoration and balance of body, mind, and spirit.
  • Service - We look for opportunities to live our faith by serving one another and serving those in need.
  • Rest - We remind ourselves that our identity and worth is not found in what we produce, but in our relationship with God.
  • Hope - We recognize that God has the future in his control and that regardless of our circumstances God has an ultimate plan for our lives
